The Automotive Technician Award recognises the outstanding performance of an automotive technician such as a mechanic, painter, panel beater, wheel technician, automotive electrician, and interior repair specialist.

The award winner will demonstrate their skill set and knowledge as a best-in-class technician, as well as their commitment to continued personal and professional development.

 

Essential Eligibility Criteria

  • This category is open to professionals in Northern Ireland who are skilled in various technical roles within the automotive industry. This includes mechanics, painters, panel beaters, wheel technicians, automotive electricians, and interior repair specialists.

 

Award Criteria

Technical Skill and Expertise: Demonstrate excellence in technical skills within their specific field, showcasing a high level of proficiency and best-in-class service.

Innovation and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate ability to apply innovative solutions and effective problem-solving techniques to address complex automotive issues.

Quality of Work: Evidence of consistently high-quality work, including testimonials, customer feedback, or recognition from peers or supervisors.

Commitment to Safety: Demonstrate adherence to safety standards and practices, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Continuous Learning and Development: Demonstrate engagement in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest automotive technologies and techniques.

Contribution to Team and Workplace: Demonstrate positive impact on their team and workplace through mentorship, collaboration, or leadership in promoting best practices.

Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrate examples of outstanding customer service, including how they have gone above and beyond to meet or exceed customer expectations.

 

Submissions should be clear, concise, and supported by verifiable evidence or data where possible. Each criterion should be addressed individually, providing specific examples or case studies that demonstrate excellence and distinguish the individual from his/her peers.

The judging panel may request to interview or set a test for an entrant as enhanced assessment if required.

When you’re making your application, take your time to be clear. It’s easy to over explain your achievements, to go into too much detail or to spend time only on one item.

Try to break down your application into sections that are clear, concise and really tell a story about who you or your brand are. Our judges want to understand you, get to know you and to understand the authentic contribution you’re making to the industry.
