Recognising the role played by an inspirational female in the local automotive industry

The Inspirational Female Award recognises the role played by an inspirational female in the local automotive industry.

The award winner will operate in any aspect of the local automotive industry, including management, sales, after-sales, fleet management and marketing, and demonstrate how they have made a significant contribution to the success of a vehicle retailer in Northern Ireland, and how they are inspiring and encouraging the next generation of women to join the local automotive industry by promoting it as an inclusive career choice.

 

Essential Eligibility Criteria

  • This category is open to open to female professionals operating in any aspect of the local automotive industry in Northern Ireland.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, roles in management, sales, after-sales service, fleet management, marketing, and technical positions such as mechanics, painters, panel beaters, wheel technicians, automotive electricians, and interior repair specialists.

 

Award Criteria

Leadership and Contribution: Demonstrated leadership within her role and significant contributions to the success of her vehicle retailer or automotive sector.

Mentorship and Inspiration: Evidence of mentorship programs, initiatives, or personal actions taken to inspire and support the next generation of women in the automotive industry.

Innovation and Initiative: Demonstrate involvement in innovative projects or initiatives that showcase creativity and drive positive change within the automotive industry.

Advocacy for Inclusivity: Demonstrate promotion of the automotive industry as an inclusive career choice for women, including efforts to improve gender diversity within the sector.

Professional Development: Demonstrate commitment to personal and professional development, both for herself and others, leading by example in career advancement and skill enhancement.

Community and Industry Engagement: Demonstrate evidence of participation in industry forums, community events, or public speaking engagements to advocate for women in automotive and share her insights and experiences.

 

Submissions should be clear, concise, and supported by verifiable evidence or data where possible. Each criterion should be addressed individually, providing specific examples or case studies that demonstrate excellence and distinguish the individual from her peers.

The judging panel may request to interview or set a test for an entrant as enhanced assessment if required.

When you’re making your application, take your time to be clear. It’s easy to over explain your achievements, to go into too much detail or to spend time only on one item.

Try to break down your application into sections that are clear, concise and really tell a story about who you or your brand are. Our judges want to understand you, get to know you and to understand the authentic contribution you’re making to the industry.

Be authentic. Tell us what your experiences are, not what you think our judges want to read.
