Medium Independent Dealer
(50 vehicles or fewer)

The Medium Independent Dealer Award recognises the outstanding performance of an independent vehicle retailer in Northern Ireland with 50 vehicles or under, but no less than 25.

The award winner will demonstrate outstanding sales performance across new and used car sales, as well as showcasing their quality and innovation across all areas of the business i.e., sales and after-sales, products and technology, marketing, and corporate social responsibility.

They will demonstrate market leadership and have a strong presence in the automotive industry. They will also hold high levels of customer satisfaction and positive feedback.

 

Essential Eligibility Criteria

  • The dealership must be independently owned and operated, not affiliated with, or owned by a manufacturer or larger dealer group.
  • The dealership does not have a franchise with a manufacturer to sell new cars.
  • The dealership should have a current inventory of under 50 vehicles, but no less than 25.
  • The dealership must be located within Northern Ireland.

 

Award Criteria

Sales Performance: Demonstrated excellence in used car sales in the past 12 months.

Innovation & Quality in Business Operations: Demonstrate the implementation of innovative products, services, or technology that distinguishes the independent dealer from competitors in the past 12 months.

After Sales: Demonstrate the strategies and processes in place to enhance customer experience in all areas of the after-sales in the past 12 months.

Marketing Excellence: Demonstrate how marketing strategies have contributed to the Medium Independent dealer’s visibility and sales in the past 12 months.

Capital Investment: Demonstrate investments made in business infrastructure, technology, or employee development in the past 12 months.

Staff Retention and Training: Demonstrate investment in employee training and how it contributes to business success and customer satisfaction in the past 12 months.

Corporate Social Responsibility: Evidence of initiatives undertaken to give back to the community or to improve the environmental sustainability of operations.

Customer Satisfaction and Feedback: Evidence demonstrating high levels of customer satisfaction in the past twelve months.

 

Submissions should be clear, concise, and supported by verifiable evidence or data where possible. Each criterion should be addressed individually, providing specific examples or case studies that demonstrate excellence and distinguish the medium independent dealer (50 vehicles or under) from its competitors.

The judging panel may request to interview or set a test for an entrant as enhanced assessment if required.

Try to break down your application into sections that are clear, concise and really tell a story about who you or your brand are. Our judges want to understand you, get to know you and to understand the authentic contribution you’re making to the industry.
